완전초보 영어첫걸음 - tip of the iceberg '빙산의 일각'

오늘 함께 공부할 영어회화 표현은 tip of the iceberg 입니다. tip of the iceberg 의 의미는 '빙산의 일각' 인데요, 극 지방에 있는 빙산 중 우리는 물 위에 떠 있는 부분만 보게 됩니다. 그래서 사람들이 빙산의 크기를 그정도로만 착각할 수가 있죠. 하지만 빙산의 일각 이라는 의미는, 빙산은 물 속에 잠긴 모습이 더욱더 클 수 있음을 의미합니다. 즉 대부분은 숨겨져 있고, 밖으로 드러나 있는 부분은 극히 일부분에 지나지 않는다는 것을 의미하는 표현이에요. 영어로는  tip of the iceberg  이라고 한답니다. 오늘의 표현  tip of the iceberg  이 들어간 재미있는 예문을 좀더 공부해 보도록 할게요 ^^
