be supposed to 표현 입니다

 

 

원어민들이 굉장히 많이 쓰는영어표현입니다

하지만 갑자기 듣게 되면
무슨 뜻인지 확 와닿지 않을수도 있는 표현이므로
미리미리 알아두시는게 좋겠죠?

예문으로 공부하는게 가장 쉽습니다

suppose : ~일거라고 생각하다 , 가정하다

 

---

1. be supposed to + 동사원형 : 

원래 ~하기로 했어 / ~해야해

 

-너 주말에 뭐해? 
What's your plans on weekend?
나 친구들이랑 술 먹기로 했어
I am supposed to have a drink with friends

 

-그녀는 내일 학교를 방문하기로 했어
She is supposed to visit the school tomorrow

 

-오늘 저녁에 비 그친다 했는데
Rain is supposed to stop this evening
It is supposed to stop raining this evening

 

-남자친구가 어제 전화하기로 했는데 안했어
My boyfriend was supposed to call me yesterday, but he didn't

1-1 be supposed to + 동사원형 : 

~라고 그러더라 / ~할 거라고 그러더라

 

-그사람 친절하대
He is supposed to be kind

 

-그 영화 재밌다고 하더라
The movie is supposed to be fun

 

-그사람 중국 갈거라고 그러더라
He is supposed to go to China

 

-그녀는 자녀가 둘이래

2. be not supposed to + 동사원형 : ~ 해서는 안된다

 

-여기 주차하면 안돼
You are not supposed to park here

 

-너 지금 여기 있으면 안돼
You are not supposed to be here right now

 

-그걸 말하면 안돼
You are not supposed to say that

 

-너 운동하면 안됐어
You are not supposed to work out

 

-나 맥주 마시면 안돼
I am not supposed to drink beer

 

-너 아프니까 많이 걸으면 안돼
You are still sick, so you are not supposed to walk long

3. be supposed to + have pp
: ~했다고/되었다고 그러더라

 

-그가 일본 갔다고 그러더라
He is supposed to have gone to Japan

 

-제니가 딸을 낳았다고 그러더라
Jenny is supposed to have given birth to a baby girl

 

-그사람 해고됐다고 그러더라
He is supposed to have been fired
