elder/elders 표현 입니다

 

 

나보다 나이가 많은 분들,
노인분들을 의미할때
old man, old people이라고만 
알고 계신다면
다른 표현을 써보도록 할게요

elder: 나이가 더 많은
만약 한분을 의미할땐
an elder라고 쓰시면 되겠죠?

 

 

-my elder brother 
우리 형/오빠

 

-the elder of their two sons 
그들의 두 아들 중 큰 아들

 

-I have three elder sisters.  
나는 손위의 누이가 셋이 있다

 

-The woman is my elder sister. 
저 여자는 나의 언니이다

그는 형만큼 영리하지 않다

 

-He had always been overshadowed by his elder sister. 
그는 항상 누나의 그늘에 가려 빛을 보지 못했었다

그와 그의 형은 성격이 극과 극을 달린다

-My grandmother held dear my elder brother who was the only son in the family. 
우리 할머니는 집안의 유일한 아들이었던 오빠를 신주 모시듯 했다
 

-Which is the elder (of the two)? 
(두 사람 중) 어느 쪽이 형/언니 입니까?

 

-The villagers revere him as an elder.  
마을 사람들은 그를 어른으로 떠받들고 있다

 

elders , elderly people은
어르신분들 여럿을 지칭합니다

 

 

 

-Our main virtue is respect for elders.  
우리의 중요한 미덕은 손윗사람을 공경하는 것입니다

 

-They bowed deeply to the elders
그들은 어른들에게 큰절을 올렸다

 

-Incline your ear to the counsel of your elders. 
연장자들의 조언에 귀를 기울이세요

 

-Children have no respect for their elders nowadays
요즘에는 아이들이 어른들에 대한 존경심이 없어요

 

-Korean people bow down to show deference to their elders. 
한국 사람들은 윗사람들에게 경의를 표하기 위해 고개를 숙여 인사한다

 

-How can we help digitally excluded elders? 
디지털 소외된 노인들을 어떻게 도울 수 있을까?

 

-How dare you speak that way to elders?  
어른한테 그게 무슨 말버릇이야?

 

 

-He has a bad attitude toward his elders.  
그는 어른을 대하는 태도가 좋지 않다

 

-We invited the village elders to our house for a banquet. 
우리는 동네 어른들을 집으로 모셔서 잔치를 벌였다
