완전초보 영어첫걸음 ~에 빠져있는, 중독되어 있는 "be hooked on"

오늘 함께 공부할 영어회화 표현은 "be hooked on~" 입니다.

hook 은 고리로 걸다 라는 의미죠. 이 표현을 수동태 형태로 be hooked on~ 으로 말한다면 고리에 걸려있는 상태, 즉 어떤 것에 빠져있는, 중독되어 있는 이라는 의미가 됩니다.  그 대상은 사람, 긍정적인 것들, 부정적인 것들 모두 다 가능합니다. 실제 영어회화에서 어떻게 쓸수 있을지 다양한 영어예문을 함께 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

그는 마약에 중독되어 있다.

He became a social outcast by getting himself hooked on drugs.
